Temporary Suspension of Visits to all VRA Power Plants and Facilities

Following the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and subsequent directives from His Excellency, the President on the related Public Health and Safety measures, the Management of the Volta River Authority (VRA) wishes to inform the general public that as part of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, visits to any of the underlisted Authority’s Power Generating facilities across the country are suspended with immediate effect, until further notice.

The Power Generating Facilities are as follows:

  • AKOSOMBO GENERATING STATION (DAM SITE)
  • KPONG GENERATING STATION
  • TEMA THERMAL POWER COMPLEX (TTPC)
  • KPONE THERMAL POWER STATION (KTPS)
  • TAKORADI THERMAL POWER STATION (TTPS)
  • NAVRONGO SOLAR POWER PLANT
  • LAWRA SOLAR POWER PLANT
  • KALEO SOLAR POWER PLANT

Visits to VRA’s recreational facilities which are normally open to the public are also suspended with immediate effect until further notice. All planned and confirmed visits are also therefore cancelled.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused to our cherished visitors.

We encourage everyone to frequently wash their hands with soap under running water for at least 20 seconds, cover their noses and mouths when sneezing or coughing and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
