VRA Wins Two Major Awards in Africa Government Summit and Public Sector Innovative Awards 2026

A Volta River Authority (VRA) team led by the Deputy Chief Executive (Services), Mr. Samuel Fletcher, participated in the Africa Government Summit and Public Sector Innovative Awards 2026 held at the Accra Marriott Hotel on March 5, 2026.

The event brought together key public sector institutions and stakeholders and served as a platform for discussions on governance related matter and the subsequent recognition of outstanding contributions by sector players towards national development and public sector innovation across Africa.

In recognition of the Authority’s innovative approaches to power generation stability & diversification, the VRA was named Innovative Company of the Year (Power Sector)

Also, the Chief Executive, Ing. Edward Obeng- Kenzo, received the Transformational Energy Leadership Award, in acknowledgement of his strategic leadership in driving VRA’s operational excellence, innovation, and commitment to sustainable energy development across Ghana and the wider West African sub-region.
