VRA PARTICIPATES IN WREATH LAYING CEREMONY IN MEMORY OF FALLEN HEROES

The Ag. Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority today led a delegation of Executives to the Seat of Presidency, the Jubilee House to lay a wreath in memory of the 8 Ghanaian officials who perished during a Helicopter crash in the Ashanti region on Wednesday 6th August 2025.

The aircraft, carrying eight people, including three crew members and five passengers, departed Accra at 09:12 GMT bound for Obuasi, and crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Ing. Edward E. Obeng-Kenzo layed the wreath on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Authority in memory of the fallen heroes namely Dr. Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting National Security Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman NDC, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate (2020 & 2024), Peter Anala, Squadron Leader, Manaen Twum Ampadu, Flying Officer, Ernest Addo, Sergeant.

While addressing the media, the Chief Executive expressed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families, offering words of comfort and encouragement. He emphasized that the Authority remains committed to standing firmly by their side, providing all necessary support to help them navigate this challenging period.

Other Executives present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Deputy Chief Executive(Services), Samuel Fletcher, Director Human Resources, Dominic K. Ofosuhene and Director Internal Audit, Mr. Ebenezer Omari-Mireku.
